Take Two Game Publishers Want Lindsay Lohan GTA 5 Lawsuit Thrown Out: 'Speed The Plow' Star Suing To Generate Publicity For Struggling Reality Show?

Lindsay Lohan, no stranger to the court system, has been in the plaintiffs seat for the last few months - suing Grand Theft Auto game publishers Take Two. The troubled star claims that they, along with Rockstar Games, created a character in Lohan's likeness for GTA 5.   It looks like she may face a setback, though, as court reports just surfaced in which Take Two claims the suit is 'for publicity,' and asks that the whole thing be thrown out. Could Lohan be trying to drum up some ratings for her struggling OWN reality show?

The character in question is "Lacey Jonas," a blond actress who is portrayed as having an eating disorder. Lohan's suit alleges that Take Two "incorporated her likeness, clothing, outfits… ensemble in the form of hats, hairstyle, sunglasses" into the character without permission. The actress, who is currently rehearsing for upcoming London play 'Speed To Plow,' alleges that the hotel in which the character is said to reside, Gentry Manor, is based on the West Hollywood Chateau Marmont, where she lived for a time.

The publishers, though, have some choice words of their own on the claim. They call the lawsuit "so legally meritless that  it lacks any good-faith basis and can only have been filed for publicity purposes." They insist the character has no similarity to Lohan other than being young and blond. They even go as far as to insist that Lohan should pay their legal fees for such as frivolous suit.

Lohan's OWN Network reality show, 'Lindsay,' has been struggling with ratings since it first aired, and it is no secret that the star's acting career has been near death for years, due to her frequent rehab trips and erratic reputation. A high profile lawsuit does have the potential to stir up the kind drama that would get people tuning in. Could this all have been just  a carefully planned career move?
