K-Pop Top 10 on YouTube for First Half of the Year

The world's biggest video sharing site, Youtube, announced on July 16 the K-Pop Top 10 most watched videos. The charts revealed the top 10 for nationally (Korea) and globally famous videos.

Global Most Watched K-Pop Music Videos Top 10 Chart

For the first half of this year, idol group Big Bang won first place for most watched videos globally. 

Their song, "Fantastic Baby" placed first with "Blue" placing second. Girls' Generation's unit group TaeTiSeo's debut single, "Twinkle," ranked third. Big Bang's comeback mini album's other two songs, "Bad Boy" and "Monster" ranked fourth and sixth respectively. They set the record for having four of their songs be in the top 10. f(x), who released their music video the latest, ranked number five with their song, "Electric Shock." Other groups such as SISTAR, SHINee and 4minute also ranked on the top 10 chart.

National (Korea) Most Watched K-Pop Music Videos Top 10 Chart

On the national chart for Korea, girl groups were the most popular. Ranking first on the chart was SISTAR with their song, "Alone." Girls' Generation's unit group, Taetiseo, ranked second with their song, "Twinkle" with Wonder Girls right behind them with, "Like This." Big Bang was also seen on the national chart with "Blue" and "Fantastic Baby," being fourth and fifth respectively. f(x) was place sixth with "Electric Shock" along with T-ARA and Busker Busker right behind.

An official stated, "K-Pop has become a genre of music that is listened to globally. We hope that through Youtube, we will be able to spread the word of K-Pop even more."
