Amanda Knox murder case is going on seven years now but the positive coverage that the student enjoys in the US media has cast doubt on her innocence, so says a PR practitioner and freelance reporter. Meanwhile, the movie "Face of an Angel" is reporetdly dedicated to Meredith Kercher's memory.

"Contrary to sensationalist reporting, this is not a case about sex or drugs or Satanism -- this is a case about controlling and manipulating image," Selene Nelson, content executive and freelance writer wrote for HuffingtonPost, as she weighed in on the Amanda Knox murder case.

She claimed that any negative news regarding Amanda Knox is swept under the rug and she attributed that to the powerful media machinery that the convicted murderer enjoys. Right after the whole fiasco started, her father hired the services of the Gogerty Marriott Public Relations Inc. to try to bleach her image.

"No American journalists were given access to the Knox family without guarantees of positive coverage," Nelson added. "Thus, Knox was turned from promiscuous schemer to naïve college girl, railroaded by ruthless Italians driven by their consuming hatred for anything American."

Even the report linking Amanda Knox's name to a major drug ring in Italy did not earn major coverage in the US media, the HuffPost said.

Journalist and author Barbie Latza Nadeau also noticed the way the media covered the Amanda Knox murder case and how Meredith Kercher is being pushed into the background. This is the reason why she wrote "Angel Face, a Beast Book," which now has a film adaptation starring Kate Berkinsale.

"In the real life scene, I remember worrying that a movie about this murder would be ultimately sensational, bloody, and disrespectful to Meredith Kercher, who didn't deserve to be a victim once more," she wrote. "Or worse, it would negate Kercher completely, which has been a regular practice in the coverage of the case."
