Rupert Grint Loses £200,000, Stars In Broadway Show ‘It's Only A Play’: Harry Potter Star Keeps Mind Off Plummeting Net Worth By Pretending To Be Ed Sheeran?

Rupert Grint’s net worth just took a dive when his cafe-hotel business took a turn for the worse. It looks like the ‘Harry Potter’ star tried to stave off this unpleasant news by concentrating on his Broadway show ‘It’s Only a Play’ and by pretending to be Ed Sheeran. Always nice to be mistaken for someone else famous. More famous that is.

So how much exactly did ex-Ronald Weasley lose? According to the Sun, his cafe lost around £111,436 and the hotel £70,000, making it a devastating loss of about £200,000.

Ed Sheeran look-a-like opened Rigsby’s Piano Cafe and Rigsby’s Guest House in his hometown, but the businesses have not been doing very well. He should really replace the director for his ventures.

Wait, he can’t. It’s his father.

Anyway, it looks like the Ed Sheeran pretender is trying to keep his mind off of his net worth plummeting by concentrating on his Broadway show ‘It’s Only a Play’. Looks like he got this idea from his ‘Harry Potter’ co-star Daniel Radcliffe, who has become a bit of a Broadway veteran with already two shows under his belt.

Rupert Grint, along with F. Murray Abraham, Matthew Broderick (Sarah Jessica Parker’s hubby), Megan Mullaly, Nathan Lane and Stockard Channing, only seemed too happy to pose in front of his theater while his fans snapped away, Daily Mail reports.

However, the fans may have mistaken him for somebody else. Somebody more famous than he is. Rupert Grint admitted that people think he is the Brit singer Ed Sheeran.

“They compliment me on my music career and I just play along with it! It’s never too bad, you get the odd person staring at you but it’s pretty manageable,” Rupert said.

Sure, pretending to be Ed Sheeran will also help you forget your dad just lost a significant amount of your net worth.

‘It’s Only a Play’, written by Terrence McNally, will play at Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre until January 4, 2015!
