Windows 9 Release Date: New Leaked Screenshots Provide Detailed View Of Upcoming Windows Version, Runs On Only 1GB Of RAM

A lot of Windows users are waiting for the Windows 9 release date which is said to include some new features while bringing back some old goodies we have missed in Windows 8.

However, the official release may still be next year. Fortunately, it looks like someone has leaked confidential company information and posted what appears to be the Windows 9 interface.

According to a report by GSM Arena, website winfuture.de broke out the news which shows us the Technical Preview of the upcoming PC platform.

In the leaked images, the Start menu will indeed be making its comeback and pairs with the classic Start button which returned in the latest Windows 8.1 update.

As mentioned in previous reports, there is also a notification center at the bottom right of the screen, though it does not need to be pulled down just like in Windows Phone.

There were also rumors that Cortana will be making its way to the PC platform, which will provide more features for the new Windows version.

Interestingly, one of  the leaked screenshots shows that the Technical Preview of Windows 9 was conducted in a computer that only has 1GB of RAM. This could be good news for PC users because it means Microsoft has optimized the operating system heavily in order to fit most PC desktops and laptops.

In the report, it looks like Windows 9 will be reverting the windows experience for laptops in mouse and keyboard input only, while the Windows slates will retain touch support.

The preview and announcement for the Windows 9 version will be on September 30. In the Microsoft event, we may also expect to see some upcoming devices such as laptops and tablets which may be released running the latest Windows 9 version.

For the past three years, the PC market has tried to adopt to the changes brought about by Windows 8 and 8.1, but they both failed to impress the industry. And so Microsoft better bring back the older but more functional navigation in Windows 9.
