Prince Harry Gives Inspiring Speech At Invictus Games Closing Ceremony: 30-Year-Old Birthday Boy Joined At Event By Ex-Girlfriend Cressida Bonas

It has been a busy week for Prince Harry. The redheaded royal, who turned 30 years old on Monday (Sept. 15), gave the closing speech at the Invictus Games, a sporting tournament for wounded and sick Servicemen and women.

And during the final ceremony, the Prince even had ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas in the crowd cheering him on.

"[The games] shone a spotlight on the unconquerable character of servicemen and women and their families - their Invictus spirit," said Harry to the crowd gathered at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. "These games have been about seeing guys sprinting for the finish line and then turning round to clap the last man in. They have been about teammates choosing to cross the line together; not wanting to come second, but not wanting the other guys to, either. These games have shown the very best of the human spirit," he added.

26,000 people gathered for the closing ceremony.

Harry, an avid supporter of the Invictus Games and a key force behind the creation of the event, applauded the competitors with a sincere send-off.

"Warmest good wishes and congratulations to you all... [The competitors] have used the power of sport to enhance your own recovery and to raise wider awareness of the enormous challenges faced by wounded veterans," said the Prince.

Performing at the event were the Foo Fighters, the Kaiser Chiefs, and Ellie Goulding.

In the crowd that evening was Cressida Bonas, Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend, who allegedly left a wedding in Italy early in order to make it back to London for Harry's speech.

According to Hello! Daily News, Bonas was seen chatting with Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie, who introduced the pair two years ago.

When Prince William's younger brother, who is also celebrating his much-anticipated 30th birthday, was asked what's next for the Invictus Games, he answered, "I personally would love to keep it in the UK. So many good things happen in London where the rest of the country has to watch on TV or travel long distance. If we can take this up north then it would be great."
