T-ARA To Make ‘Sugar Free’ Remix Amidst Plagiarism Accusations

Girl group T-ARA are now contributing to the international K-pop craze in their own way.

The idol group will be collaborating with one of the top DJs in the music industry for the release of a new version of their hit track "Sugar Free."

"T-ARA will be working with DJ Chucky from the Netherlands for the remix of their song 'Sugar Free,'" Shinsadong Tiger, who worked with the K-pop group for their recent hit, told the Korean publication Osen Entertainment.

DJ Chucky is responsible for the remixes of the works of top artists, including Michael Jackson, LMFAO, 50 Cent and more. T-ARA's collaboration with the DJ is expected to help get the group's work out in various international music industries.

13 versions of "Sugar Free" have reportedly already been released as T-ARA has worked with Korea's Gu Joon-yup group, creating remixes in both Korea and English.

"The remix of 'Sugar Free' is expected to give more of a drop to the beat, which means people will most likely be dancing to it. I hope more Korean pop songs are able to have remix versions so we can hear them in clubs and get the tracks recognized as dance music," stated Gu.

The music video for "Sugar Free" has also become a hit as it topped China's music video site, YinYueTai, according to Allkpop. The music video ranked No. 1 for six consecutive days.

Despite the success of "Sugar Free," T-ARA has come under fire as they are reportedly being accused of plagiarizing the album cover of electronic duo Justice's first album "T," according to the publication Franchises Herald. The "T" on both covers are reportedly drawn similarly and colored in in the same dark shade.

T-ARA's management agency, Core Contents Media, has reportedly dismissed the rumors of plagiarism, stating, "We haven't heard anything about it."
