KTVA Alaska Reporter Says "F*ck It", Quits Job On Live TV To Focus On Marijuana Business

There are many ways to make quitting your job memorable (and fun).

Some do it by dancing to Kanye West's "Gone". Remember writer Marin Shifrin's epic resignation?

While others just... well, give up and say "Fuck It".

KTVA reporter Charlo Greene resigned live on air on Sunday in the middle of a newscast.

Greene made the announcement immediately following a story on a medical marijuana business, and the revelation that she is the business's owner.

"Everything you've heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f--k it, I quit."

Greene's organization is fighting for the passage of Ballot Measure 2 which would legalize recreational amounts of marijuana in Alaska. It was reported that medical marijuana dispensaries currently operate in a legal gray area.

After Greene's abrupt resignation, KTVA's news director issued a statement:

Dear Viewers,

We sincerely apologize for the inappropriate language used by a KTVA reporter during her live presentation on the air tonight. The employee has been terminated.

Greene reportedly told the Alaska Dispatch News that KTVA was unaware of her role with the Cannabis Club or her plans to resign from the network.

"If I offended anyone, I apologize," Greene told ADN, "but I'm not sorry for the choice that I made."

Greene recently uploaded a YouTube video to explain why she quit. The former TV reporter says she had "no regrets" with her decision.

If Alaskans vote 'yes' on Ballot Measure 2, an effort that Greene says is a "a vote for liberty, freedom and fairness", it will become the third state in the US after Colorado and Washington to allow adults to legally purchase and possess restricted amounts of marijuana for recreational purposes.
