During its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2014) in June, Apple announced its upcoming new Mac Operating System, OSX 10.10 Yosemite . Following its unveiling, Apple has launched its beta version to one million people and to developers for testing but the question remains, when will Yosemite officially release and what features will it add to your Mac? During the keynote, released on 17 September, Apple also launched iOS 8.

When is Apple OS X Yosemite coming out?

It is reported that the update will be released during or after an Apple special event on 21 October. There are also chances of iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 unveiling in the same event.

Apple confirms we can expect to get the new OS by this Autumn I.E. an October release is most likely.

For all Apple customers, as with the earlier version of OS X, Maverick, the Yosemite edition will be free.
