Yet again an ESPN leading media personality run afoul of network guideline.

The heated remarks Bill Simmons made during his famous B.S. Report podcast, has earned him a three-week suspension. In a Wednesday statement, ESPN reported, "Every employee must be accountable to ESPN and those engaged in our editorial operations must also operate within ESPN's journalistic standards." ESPN further stated, "We have worked hard to ensure that our recent NFL coverage has met that criteria. Bill Simmons did not meet those obligations in a recent podcast, and as a result we have suspended him for three weeks."

Apparently, Simmons challenged ESPN to respond to remarks he made about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's response to the Ray Rice domestic abuse scandal.

"I really hope somebody calls me or emails me and says I'm in trouble for anything I say about Roger Goodell. Because if one person says that to me, I'm going public. You leave me alone," Simmons said in the podcast. "The commissioner's a liar and I get to talk about that on my podcast. ... Please, call me and say I'm in trouble. I dare you."

Seemingly, Simmons was itching for a fight with his own network. Simmons taunted the network to admonish him for slamming the NFL commissioner on ESPN's most popular podcast, The B.S. Report.

In March 2013, American sports columnist, NBA TV analyst, editor-in-chief of ESPN's sports and culture site Grant land, author and podcaster, Simmons was suspended from Twitter over comments he made about ESPN programming. A network spokesperson stated that Simmons latest suspension includes all platforms including Twitter.

Plus, the webpage that hosted Monday's B.S. Report was taken down by ESPN right after the suspension statement was issued. Mike Soltys, vp of corporate communications at the network confirmed, "It was taken down at that time."
