Andy Murray And Kim Sears Bolster Their Relationship At China Open, Scottish Independence Supporter Bids Goodbye To Adidas And Looks For New Sponsorship Deals

Andy Murray and Kim Sears got to strengthen their relationship in China this year. The 27-year-old tennis player, who got a lot of slack for openly supporting Scottish independence, credited his win at Shenzhen Open to his girlfriend Kim Sears. He also looks to break ties with Adidas and look for new sponsorship deals. Looks like Andy Murray is entering a new phase in his life!

Andy Murray won the Shenzhen Open by beating Spanish Tommy Robredo, 5-7, 7-6 and 6-1, which marked his first ATP tour win since Wimbledon 2013. It’s been a long time coming.

The relieved Scottish player thanked, of course, everyone under the sun, but made a point to especially thank his girlfriend Kim Sears who supported him through “a very tough week”, according to BBC.

Looks like he is giving a lot of credit to Kim Sears. Is he ready to take their relationship to a new level, aka get engaged?

This win also comes at a time of change for the tennis player who recently got criticized for openly supporting the Scottish independence referendum. According to the Telegraph, Andy Murray is looking to end the “long-standing partnership with his clothing sponsor Adidas” and look for new sponsorship deals.

The 27-year-old player’s agents are “eyeing niche brands that would base their strategy around him – and which might even offer him equity in the company”. This indeed is a smart move for a player that may be reaching the end of his career.

This is something that many other tennis players have done. Tomas Berdych closed in on a deal with H&M and Novak Djokovic accepted Uniqlo’s offer.

There is a lot of change coming up in Andy Murray’s life. Do you think aspects of his relationship with Kim Sears will also change?
