'Devil's Dare' 2D indie game combines 'Left 4 Dead' Zombie Hunting With Horror Legends Jason from Friday the 13th And Xenomorph Aliens From 'Alien'

The latest indie horror game Secret Base entitled 'Devil's Dare' may not be a first person shooter like "Left 4 Dead," but it has arguably the same amount of guts and gore. In addition, for any 90s nostalgic gamers, they'll recognize bosses immediately by their resemblance to hockey mask wearing killer Jason from "Friday the 13th" and the slimey snarling Xenomorphs from "Alien."

Secret Base (the company behind "Devil's Dare") describes themselves on their official blog: "As a small indie studio, everyone gets to touch on all elements of development, and to contribute your ideas and skill to all aspect of the game with a sense of ownership."

It would appear that kind of working environment breeds success as the indie gaming company had garnered quite a bit of fans after the release of "Bitejacker." Their latest game, "Devil's Dare" is not out for another few weeks, but based on the newest trailer, the 2D 90s style zombie beatup game combines a lot of elements that gamers in their 20s should recognize.

According to Indiegame Magazine, "At the end of each level, you'll encounter an epic boss directly themed and inspired by classic horror movie enemies like ‘Jason' from Friday the 13th and the alien from ‘Alien'."

They go on to describe the gameplay, which interestingly has an arcade style true death, in which if you die without enough game coins in your possession, you have to start the game from the beginning. This is good news for fans who are looking for a fighting style game that's a little more challenging than the endless grind of leveling up.
