It looks like things are going from bad to worse for Amanda Bynes. After her recent DUI arrest, reports surfaced that the troubled actress had been kicked out of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, for poor attendance, intoxication and erratic behavior. Now it appears that Bynes, who made headlines last year for her constant bizarre and inflammatory Twitter activity, may be tweeting again under a “secret” alias. Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that the star has been exhibiting more concerning behavior on a current trip to New York.

InTouch first speculated that Twitter user “Ashley Barks” – AKA @PersianLa27 – was actually Bynes back in March. At the time the actress denied it, but Gawker points out that the tweets coming from that handle lately have sounded a lot like vintage Bynes. While @PersianLa27’s tweets used to defend Bynes in the third person, the user has now taken on a first person voice. After reports of Bynes’ expulsion surfaced, @PersianLa27’s feed began to fill up with messages like, “Thanks for interviewing my ugly classmates! #SNITCHES”; “DON’T BELIEVE THE MEDIA.”; and “I WASN’T KICKED OUT.” In addition, the name attached to the handle has been change from Ashley Barks to Amanda.

TMZ reported on Friday that Bynes was spotted behaving bizarrely in the LAX airport, before boarding her plane. Sources told the site she was visibly high, talking to herself and excessively applying makeup in an airport restaurant. Now the site reports that later that evening in New York, the actress was spotted in Union Square talking to inanimate objects. Sources say she seemed very paranoid. She then reportedly wandered into a Cartier store wearing sweatpants and a bandage under one eye, looked around for a while and then left while holding up a hoodie to shield her face from paparazzi’s cameras.

As previously reported, Bynes’ parents recently relinquished their conservatorship over the actress, apparently believing that she could now take care of herself. Friends have expressed concern, saying the situation has become increasingly desperate. Without the conservatorship, a psychiatric hold can only be placed if Bynes is determined to pose a significant danger to herself or others.
