Faye Grant Says Ex-Husband Stephen Collins Led a Secret Life; Stephen Collins Ex-Wife Faye Grant Wants Protection From Alleged Child Molestation Victims; Collins Lawyers Accuse Grant of Extortion

Stephen Collins was accused of molesting several young girls after an audio tape that his ex-wife Faye Grant gave to the authorities was released. Yesterday, the LAPD responded to reports of a gunshot at a home owned by the "7th Heaven" actor. The actor, who was fired from the Seth MacFarlane movie "Ted 2" was not at home and reports that he committed suicide were premature.

Stephen Collins' wife Faye Grant denied releasing the recording of his alleged child molestation admission. Grant said she gave the tape to the authorities in 2012. She said she didn't know that the tape was shared with the media.

Stephen Collins starred as the Rev. Eric Camden in the television show "7th Heaven." He also had a role in the movie "Ted 2." Collins filed for divorce from Faye Grant in 2012 after 27 years of marriage. Collins allegedly confessed at the time that he'd had inappropriate contact with children. Faye reportedly taped the conversation without his knowledge.

TMZ reported that the leaked tape featured Collins admitting to molesting at least three children. The tape was made during a therapy session. Talking about an 11-year-old girl on the tape, Collins allegedly said "There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis." Collins also allegedly admitted exposing himself "a couple of times" to her.

TMZ reported "We're told her lawyer advised her it was legal to secretly record the conversation because in California you're allowed to secretly record conversations to gather evidence the other person committed a violent felony ... and molesting a child under the age of 14 qualifies."

The tape allegedly includes this exchange:

Grant: With a 10-year-old? OK.

Collins: Well ... no ... she was 11 and then like, 12 and 13.

Grant: Oh my God.

Collins: There was never any conversation around it.

Collins: Well this is in the disclosure and I told you before there was one instance, where for there was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis.

In a declaration to the court, Grant said "I believe that Stephen used his celebrity status to engender the trust of the families of the children he molested. I further believe that there have been other victims, but he has thus far only confessed to those three girls."

According to the document, Collins allegedly admitted that two victims lived in New York and one of the victims lived in Los Angele.

In the document, Grant claims "The two victims in New York were apparently molested over the course of several years, from the ages of 10-14 years old. My understanding is that all three of these victims are now over the age of 26."

Grant reportedly believes that one of the victims filed a sexual assault complaint in New York.

In the document Grant insists "I had no knowledge of Stephen's secret life until January 2012. I never witnessed anything first-hand that would have given me any indication of what Stephen was doing. After Stephen admitted to molesting the three young girls, I reported his acts to the police in both Los Angeles County and New York City."

The documents also claims that Grant said "Stephen's therapist subsequently disclosed to me that Stephen has narcissistic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies."

Stephen Collins' lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan,  released a statement saying Grant tried to extort him with the tape.

In a statement to TMZ, Kaplan said "Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled. When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted - without success - to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape - not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled. Though we would like to address the tape itself, the circumstances dictate that we must regrettably refrain from doing so at this time."
