Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Release Date: Redmond Giant Still Confident That Its Surface Slates Can Replace Laptops, Confirmed To Get Windows 10 In 2015

Microsoft launched hosted the Surface Pro 3 release date earlier this year, but until now reports say that sales have been dismal to say the least.

As a result, a recent report claims that Microsoft may be looking to trash its current Surface lineup and start anew in the tablet industry.

However, in a blog post on Microsoft's Surface blog, CEO Satya Nadella says that the company is confident that the Surface tablets will continue to be the choice of device for the ever growing enterprise market. In his own words, Nadella claims that the Surface Pro 3 slate "is off to a strong start with both individuals and businesses."

Apparently, more employers are choosing the Surface Pro 3 instead of the traditional laptop so that their employees won't have to bring two devices to work, one of which is the iPad.

"Most businesses are buying Surface when their employees need a laptop and want to avoid having to buy and carry an iPad too", says Nadella.

In the blog post, Nadella also confirms that the Surface Pro 3 will receive the Windows 10 update next year, which would further improve multi-tasking and other features.

This means that the Surface Pro 3 slates are here to stay, but wait there's more.

In the post, the Redmond giant CEO says that Microsoft is already preparing a new generation Surface Pro, probably will be called 4.

Since the Surface Pro 3 was announced earlier this year, it has been consistently compared to both the iPad and the MacBook Air. And while it does not beat either devices in their respective games, it provides a healthy and functional mix of the two.
