Levante will face off against rival Real Madrid on Saturday, placing two of La Liga BBVA's closely followed teams against each other.

Levante, currently ranked number 17 in the league's standings, is expected to be the underdog in the match. Real Madrid, ranked number 4 in the league, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

La Liga BBVA clubs in Catalonia will still be able to play for the league if the region secedes from the rest of Spain in a referendum, the Associated Press reports.

"A debate held in parliament in April vetoed the region's request to hold a referendum by 299 votes against to 47 in favor," the site writes.

"Despite the veto, the Catalan government says it will hold a non-binding referendum on Nov. 9, a decision that has led to furious arguments about the ballot's legality."

There are a total of ten matches scheduled for Week 8 of La Liga BBVA's season schedule.
