Samsung 60GHz Wi-Fi Technology: Enable Data Transmission Speeds Of Up TO 4.6GB Per Seconds!

The South Korean company Samsung Electronics disclosed the development of Samsung 60GHz Wi-Fi technology.

According to its press release published on October 12 on its site, the Samsung 60GHz Wi-Fi technology let users transmit data faster. In enables date transmission speeds of up to 4.6Gpbs or even 575MP per second. With that, the company cited that a 1GB movie will take less than three seconds to transfer to other devices.

"Samsung has successfully overcome the barriers to the commercialization of 60GHz millimeter-wave band WI-Fi technology, and looks forward to commercializing this breakthrough technology," said Kim Chang Yong, Head of DMC R&D Center of Samsung Electronics, according the Samsung site.

"New and innovative changes await Samsung's next-generation devices, while new possibilities have been opened up for the future development of Wi-Fi technology," Kim Chang Yong added.

The company also clarified that the Samsung 60GHz Wi-Fi technology will maintain a maximum speed by eliminating co-channel interference and can remove the barrier between the theoretical and actual speeds.

Furthermore, the company also enhanced the signal quality by developing the world's first micro beam-forming control technology "that optimizes the communications module in less than 1/3,000 seconds, in case of any changes in the communications environment."

Commercialization of the said technology is expected to come next year and the Samsung plans to apply it across to different products such as audio visual, medical, and telecommunications equipment.
