Elisabeth Hasselbeck Recovering After Surprise Surgery, FOX Anchor Says She’s ‘Feeling Good’

Elisabeth Hasselbeck was forced to miss the filming of "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday because she underwent emergency surgery on Tuesday.

However, the 37-year-old's co-hosts on the FOX morning show revealed that Hasselbeck is recovering just fine.

"In case you were wondering where Elisabeth is today and this week, well, she had some surgery yesterday and she's going to be out for a couple of weeks," said co-host Steve Doocy on Wednesday. "But, she's doing just fine, she's on the mend."

FOX did not reveal why type of surgery Hasselbeck had or what the medical issue was, but the TV personality's co-hosts did express their support for their "strong" colleague.

"But as you know if you watch the show, she is strong," said Brian Kilmeade. "She is tough and a better athlete than me. We heard from her last night and she said she is feeling good. So, in a short time, she'll be back on the set."

Hasselbeck has certainly proven that she works hard to stay healthy. She first appeared on television when she competed on "Survivor: The Australian Outback." She is also a fierce advocate for living a gluten-free life, which she adopted after discovering that she had Celiac disease.

A rep for FOX urged the public to respect Hasselbeck's privacy. "Elisabeth has asked for all to respect her wishes for privacy in regards to further details at this time," the spokesperson told The Wrap.

The former host of "The View" has yet to comment on the medical emergency. She has not posted on her Twitter or Instagram accounts in a couple of days.

The mother of three is married to former NFL player Tim Hasselbeck. The couple share 9-year-old daughter Grace, 6-year-old son Taylor, and 5-year-old son Isaiah.
