Asus Transformer Book T100 Review, Price: Windows 2-in-1 Tablet Sports Bay Trail Quad-Core Processor, Budget-Friendly Price Tag

Asus Transformer Book T100 review, price: The Windows-powered Asus Transformer Book T100 has a budget-friendly price tag and decent specs that makes it a useful and portable machine. The unit has since been a popular and afforable choice in the States and is now made available in developing markets.

“Asus has launched the Transformer Book T100 hybrid tablet in the Brazilian market, Exame reports. Asus said that the device has a suggested price of BRL 1,699 and is already available at the country's main retailers. Asus said that the tablet will be locally manufactured, according to the report. The Asus Transformer Book T100 tablet uses a 10.1 inch 1366 x 768 IPS touchscreen, a quad-core Bay Trail-T Atom CPU and runs Windows 8.1,” writes the story found on Telecompaper.com

It’s yet to be known if the price will decrease. The Windows convertible was also made available in the Philippines a couple of weeks ago for a price of PHP 18,400, which is around $413. Although it’s a bit more expensive than the $350 sales price in the States, it’s still not double the price of what’s being reported in Brazil.

The no-frills machine bears a decent design that definitely categories it as “not premium,” but it’s a unit that definitely delivers on sturdiness of built and reliability of performance.

In terms of spec details, Phone Arena shows that the Asus Transformer Book T100 has a 10.1-inch HD display with IPS and multi-touch capabilities, a 1.2MP camera, and a full version of the Windows 8.1 OS. It also offers full version of the MS Home Office and Student 2013, several hundred dollar value in its own right. The T100 can last up to 10 hours on a single charge, giving it a Haswell-like power in terms of battery life.

LaptopMag says that the Transformer Book T100 can handle just about any productivity task, thanks to its solid Bay Trail performance. But CNET observes that one downside for the machine is its cramped keyboard and that it’s not as fast as zipper, larger, and also pricier Windows devices.

On many accounts, the Asus Transformer Book T100 is not exceptional. It does’t bear a premium feel or a Retina-like display, but for a price of $349.99, one of the most affordable for a hybrid tablet laptop, it’s a no-frills machine that delivers in features and functionality.

The Book T100 is a Windows tablet-laptop hybrid that wins on value. Trusted Reviews wrote that, “If a tablet-laptop Windows 8 hybrid is what you’re after, you can’t do any better at the price.”

The T100 is available in red, white, and gray. Storage size for the unit includes a 64 GB eMMC internal memory, external storage via microSD Card up to 64GB and 500GB on-dock keyboard storage. It has Micro SD and Micro HDMI support.
