Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Former New England Patriots Prepare For Pre-Trial; Defense Deals With Allowance Of Cellphone Evidence

Aaron Hernandez murder case update reveal that the former New England Patriots player is preparing for pre-trial, as the Bristol County judge allowed the prosecution to enter into evidence the athlete's cellphone.

According to the Associated Press report published on Massachusetts Live Blog, the Aaron Hernandez murder case update is set for a pre-trial hearing on November 25.

Reportedly, the original May schedule for his trial for two murder charges has not changed.

The pre-trial schedule in relation to Aaron Hernandez murder case was agreed by both prosecution and defense with Judge Jeffrey Locke in a private meeting, "out of hearing range from the courtroom audience," said WCVB.

The athlete did not attend the hearing in relation to the murder of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu in 2012.

Meanwhile, the defense team suffered a setback when Bristol County Judge E. Susan Garsh ruled in her 22-page decision that the cellphone was voluntarily turned over by Hernandez's lawyers to the state police on June 18, 2013, a day after Odin Lloyd was killed.

"Hernandez's lawyers argued that State Police obtained the phone from one of his lawyers at the Boston office of Ropes & Gray under a 'false claim of legal authority,' which Garsh rejected," the Boston Globe said.

She wrote that contrary to what Hernandez's lawyers are saying, the "turning over of the phone was a voluntary act. It was not the result of force, threat, trickery, duress, or coercion."

Allowing the cellphone as evidence is crucial in the Aaron Hernandez murder case because it showed that athlete sending a text message to Odin Lloyd hours before he was killed. The publication said that one of the messages revealed that Aaron Hernandez was supposed to pick up the victim from his Dorchester house.

"I'm coming to grab that tonight u gon b around I need dat and we could step for a little again," Hernandez reportedly texted Odin Lloyd.
