Lara Pulver Uncertain Of Sherlock Season 4 Irene Adler Return Despite Rumors: Will Mary Morstan Or Mrs. Hudson Die?

Although "Sherlock" fans have until 2016 to wait for season 4 of the hit show, one topic that is catching fire is which of the female characters will return—particularly Irene Adler.

Both Benedict Cumberbatch and actress Lara Pulver have commented on the return of Irene Adler, especially since rumors are flying that "Sherlock" season 4 will see the return of more than one lady from seasons' past.

"The danger is you have a successful character like Irene Adler and she makes a massive impact because that story is so perfect, but if she then moves in around the corner, it becomes a bit cozy," said Benedict Cumberbatch to Digital Spy.

But what does the lady who plays Irene Adler have to say about a "Sherlock" season 4 return?

"I honestly don't know," admitted Pulver. "She's only in one book and Steven and Mark Gatiss are big Conan Doyle fans."

"It's not impossible, because she's still alive and out there," answered Steven Moffat according to TVLine.

"But I was really, really pleased with [Season 2's Irene-centric] 'A Scandal in Belgravia,' and that sense of longing between those two characters. The question is, can you do it again without making it less good? Are sequels ever as good? Do you really make more money or do you debase the coinage? If we had as good a story as 'Scandal' and somewhere else to take them, we'd do it again. But, in the meantime, we're thrilled with that episode and wary of touching it again. There are many other stories tell."

According to Latin Post, it's been confirmed that Mrs. Hudson played by Una Stubbs will return when "Sherlock" season 4 returns. In addition, Mary Morstan played by Amanda Abbington will return (possibly as a mommy on the show). Reportedly, both Mrs. Hudson and Molly Hooper (Louise Brealey) will have increased roles in the new series.

However, one rumor is that one of these ladies will die during "Sherlock" season 4. But who will it be?
