Barcelona will face off against rival Celta Vigo on Saturday, placing two of La Liga BBVA's closely followed teams against each other.

Barcelona, currently ranked number one in the league's standings, is expected to be the favorite in the match. Celta Vigo, ranked number six in the league, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

Barcelona is said to have to leave La Liga BBVA if the Catalonia region splits from Spain.

"If Catalonia became independent, taking into consideration the Sports Law that would be enforced by the rest of Spain, Barcelona wouldn't be allowed to play," Tebas, the president of the league, told reporters during a press conference.

"There would have to be a change in the law made in the Spanish Parliament. Clearly if it happened then it would be detrimental for Spanish football to lose Barca."

There are a total of ten matches scheduled for Week 8 of La Liga BBVA's season schedule.
