The 'Captain Marvel' movie (not Ms Marvel) is finally confirmed! Carol Danvers along with Black Panther and the Inhumans are the new players in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While it was speculated that Marvel Studios wanted a Black Widow movie, they eventually decided on Captain Marvel. Perhaps Carol Danvers is a better match for Warner Brothers/DC Comics' "Wonder Woman" who is confirmed to have her own movie.

"Captain Marvel" will be the first film to follow "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" and it's a safe bet that she will be introduced in some way in that movie. That means we have three years to speculate on casting-which has already begun. Some fans at Comic Book Movie have posted pictures of the actress they want to see. Rachel McAdams led the photo campaign but one commenter points out that Emily Blunt is 'due' for a Marvel appearance!

Infinite Monkey comments on CBM:

"Emily Blunt. She's turned down Marvel twice already. Third time's a charm.
She's got the acting depth and the physicality to boot. She can give the rest of the Avengers a run for their money on wit and presence. She was heavily sought after for Black Widow but that is what most people only know.
Marvel seriously went after her for Agent Carter but could not because of prior commitments with other movies and her pregnancy.
Third time's a charm for her and this time, it quite a meaty role that will keep her busy for the next decade. She should take it."

While most of the comments are true, there is no hint that Marvel is indeed talking to any of those actresses at this point. There are other names, of course. Natalie Dormer from "Game Of Thrones" and Margot Robbie from "The Wolf of Wall Street" if she does not take the rumored "Suicide Squad" offer.
