‘Alex From Target’ Maybe Appearing On The Ellen Show? Overnight Viral Sensation Tweeted By Talk Show Host; Lands In Los Angeles 24 Hours Later

“Alex From Target” of #AlexFromTarget fame, the hashtag and the craze that turned a young man working for the retail giant into a viral sensation, seems like he’s headed to appear on The Ellen Degeneres show.

The man described by CNET as “the viral Bieber” was tweeted by Ellen Degeneres after he suddenly flooded the net with his viral image. A female fan on Twitter named Rims. She initially posted a pic of Alex on the information network with the words, “"YOOOOOOOOOO."

Less than 24 hours after #EllenFromEllen reached out to #AlexFromTarget, the Target employee’s Twitter account revealed that he justed “Landed in LA.”

She wouldn’t know what would have happened to that tweet. CNET reported that according to analytics site Topsy, there has been 994,214 tweets so far about Alex from Target. All major media from CNN, Fox to USA Today and even Google have been talking about Alex. Of course, his employer – presumably happy about the incident – also tweeted, “We heart Alex, too! #alexfromtarget.”

The San Antonio Express notes that Alex from Target is from a North Texas Target. If in case he does appear on The Ellen Show, we’ll know more about this young internet star.

The image of Alex that went viral on Sunday led to his Twitter account amassing a current total of 543,000 followers as of press time. A Target spokeswoman who spoke with CNET had the message below to share:

"Usually our new weekly ad is what gets people tweeting on Sundays. So imagine our surprise...when one of our Target team members managed to flood the internet with images of red and khaki without even trying. We are proud to have a great team, including #AlexFromTarget, and are in contact with his store and family. We will keep you posted if he is available for comment, but for now, we would ask you to respect his privacy."
