NBCUniversal Acquires Rights To South Korean TV Shows 'Hidden Singer' And 'Dad! Where Are We Going?'

U.S NBCU has bought rights to JTBC's singing reality show, "Hidden Singer."

It was revealed on November 5 that JTBC and NBCU's subsidiary company, Universal Media Studios International, have signed contracts for the sale of the global format and foreign version production of the show.

UMSI is in charge of creating and formatting shows and productions for NBCU. They have created many popular programs including "Top Chef", "Law & Order", "The Real Housewives" and more.

With this contract, we will hopefully be seeing a U.S. version of "Hidden Singer" coming soon. With the U.S. version, they are hoping to bring many top stars such as Beyonce and Stevie Wonder to the stage.

JTBC stated that since their first episode aired in December of 2012, they have received numerous calls and requests from media groups from all over the world.

After a year of discussing with NBCU, they finally sealed the contract.

"Hidden Singer" is popular due to its concept of bringing the singer and the fans together. Their 'from seeing to listening' concept is fresh and fun and brings the fans and the artists closer together.

This show has received much praise for its great TV format.

On the other hand, "Hidden Singer" also completed a contract with a Chinese company last year for rights of the show as well and received much attention.
