Jung Chan Woo Selected As 6th Member Of iKON As Three Remaining Hopefuls Vie For Final Spot On 'MIX & MATCH'

YG Entertainment's new boy band iKON is nearly complete.

On November 5, YG Entertainment revealed via their company blog, YG Life, that Jun Chan Woo has been selected as the sixth member of the new boy band.

Six of the record label's trainees have been vying for four spots in iKON alongside previously confirmed members Bobby, B.I, and Kim Jin Hwan on the reality competition show MIX & MATCH.

Earlier this week Koo Jun Hoe and Song Yun Hyeong were announced as the fourth and fifth members respectively. The seventh and final member will be revealed during the final episode of MIX & MATCH set to air on November 6.

Last month, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk revealed his plans for the new group's debut scheduled for January 2015.

"As soon as MIX & MATCH is over, iKON will spend a little more time on production and preparations," Yang said in an interview with Star News on October 22. "They will debut right away in January 2015 with their first single."

“Just like 2NE1's debut, iKON will only be releasing a single track and will continue to release singles for a while in order to shorten the time it takes for them to debut,” he explained of the group's planned course of action. "After their debut in January, iKON will be promoting their activities for one year in South Korea and we plan on releasing as may singles as possible."
