Hangeng Reminisces About Debuting Nine Years Ago With Super Junior

Former Super Junior member Han Geng celebrated the anniversary of his debut with Super Junior nine years ago.

The Chinese singer posted a picture of Super Junior to his Weibo account on November 6. Han Geng had debuted as a member of Super Junior in 2005, and left the group in 2012. Over 100,000 people "liked" the picture by November 8, as fans reminisced about Super Junior's debut and past members.

Han Geng's message read: "#1106 Han Geng's 9th anniversary since debut everyone that has supported me I love you".

Super Junior debuted on November 6, 2005 with the song "Twins." Super Junior has since become one of Korea's most popular acts around the world.

Han Geng went by the Koreanized version of his name, Hankyung, during his days as a Super Junior member.

The picture that Han Geng posted pictured the original twelve members of Super Junior, when the group was known as Super Junior '05. The image was a promotional image from Super Junior 05's album, "Twins."

After changing its name to Super Junior, the group added member Kyuhyun. Han Geng was also the leader of the subgroup Super Junior-M, which added the members Henry Lau and Zhou Mi. Both have since debuted as solo artists under SM Entertainment.

Han Geng's use of the picture was poignant due to the fact that the celebrity left Super Junior and SM Entertainment in 2009. He sued the company based on exclusive contract issues, and courts ruled in favor of Han Geng. SM Entertainment and Han Geng settled outside of court in 2011.

The lawsuit came on the heels of Super Junior's growth in popularity following the success of "Sorry Sorry."

Super Junior and Han Geng have mentioned the contractual issues in various issues, and members have run into Han Geng at events in China.

Since leaving Super Junior, Han Geng has had a successful career in China and recently appeared in the latest Transformers film.
