Reese's Peanut Butter Spread: Nutella Killer?

Move over, Nutella! There's another favorite spread in town and thy name is Reese! Hershey's just announced that everyone's favorite peanut butter chocolate Reese is now available in spreadable form for mass consumption.

Daren Russ, brand manager for Food & Beverage Enhancers with The Hershey Company, said in a statement that the spreads "offer an authentic Reese's experience to fans who are looking for delicious snack options throughout the day."

"Since 1928, we have been delivering the perfect combination of chocolate and peanut butter," he said. "With the launch of Reese's Spreads, we are honoring our great heritage and bringing consumers a new, but still perfect, way to enjoy the Reese's brand."

According to Daily Mail, the spread is remarkably similar to eating a Reese's cup - though many testers were a bit choosy and wanted more chocolate taste to go with the peanut butter flavor.

What would you pair your Reese's with? If it's up to us, we'll just eat right it off the jar! (But we'll probably advice using a spoon in an effort to be more "civilized"). Hershey's recommends spreading Reese's on apples, toast or celery. But who has time for that? We say bring out them spoons!

But if you're feeling creative and have a bit more time to spare, head on to Hershey's website! They've got tons of easy recipes that you can make with the spreads. Two of them are actually intended to satisfy your chocolate peanut butter cravings!

The new 13-ounce jar of Reese's spread will compliment Hershey's existing spread flavors including chocolate, chocolate with almond and chocolate with hazelnut. According to Huffington post, the 13 oz. Reese spread jar retails for $3.89. Unfortunately, it's still only available in the US. But hey, do keep an eye out for   when Hershey's brings the Reese's spread to your area!
