2NE1's Dara Unfollows YG Entertainment On Twitter, Conducts Solo Fanmeet For The First Time

Fans of 2NE1 have been steadily growing concerned for the K-pop group, and member Sandara Park's recent activities don't seem to be helping.

After celebrating her birthday, Dara attended her first solo fanmeeting at a Clio event in Myungdong. For 2NE1 fans (Blackjacks), the timing of the event was worrying particularly when it was discovered the singer had unfollowed her own record label on Twitter.

"After my debut in Korea, today is the first time that I did a solo fanmeeting," tweeted Dara according to translations by YGLadies. "To the Blackjacks who were with me during my first time and Clio, thank you so much."

"It was a bit sad because I was alone but because you all were there to support, I gained strength today. To all of my fans from all over the world, thank you so much for today! I am so thankful that I have such amazing fans. You are why I do the things I do. You keep me going!"

Despite the positivity of Dara's messages to fans, some noticed that YG Entertainment had not advertised the event at all (while simultaneously advertising Epik High's fan signing event on the same day), and that the 2NE1 member had unfollowed the label's Twitter account.

"I'm so happy that Dara's finally making a move," wrote Suzanne Lumbera on Twitter. "First she mentioned [Dara fans] and now unfollowed YG. She's not too selfless anymore."

Last month, 2NE1 experienced disbandment rumors after CL confirmed her American debut due to Minzy changing her Instagram and Twitter handle. However, YG Entertainment released statement on the matter shortly thereafter.

"It is the artist himself/herself who controls his/her own SNS activities," said YG Entertainment according to Koreaboo. "We want to tell you that we are very careful in telling you anything. We want to tell you that the timing of the announcement of CL's American debut and the timing of Minzy changing her Instagram ID coincided. There is no special meaning to what happened."

Do you think the same could be said about Dara's unfollowing of YG Entertainment and her solo event?
