Lawyer Gives Encouraging Tracy Morgan Condition Update Following Fatal Car Crash; Justice For 'Top Five' Actor Not Yet In Sight?

The lawyer of Tracy Morgan gave the actor's condition update, which follows Chris Rock's statement a few weeks back. Justice is apparently still not in sight as the "Top Five" actor's case against Wal-Mart continues.

On Tuesday, the comedian's lawyer, Benedict Morelli, gave Tracy Morgan's condition update when he said that his client is fighting to be the person he once was.

"He's fighting to get better, and if there's a chance for him to be back to the Tracy Morgan he once was, he's going to try to do that," Morelli reportedly said per Yahoo News. "But we just don't know because of the severity of the injuries that he sustained and the fact that he had such a severe brain injury."

A few weeks ago, comedian and "Top Five" co-star Chris Rock shared about Tracy Morgan's condition to USA Today, as relayed by E! News, as he said that the comedian is still reeling from the crash.

He said that Tracy Morgan doesn't live too far from him so they see each other often.

"He's got physical therapists. There's a lot of rehab going on. He's traumatized-his friend died," Chris Rock said.

Morelli's statement added that while his client is fighting, the severity of the comedian's injuries dictate that it would take a long time before his condition is fully ascertained.

"When you have a traumatic brain injury it takes a very long time to find out how you're going to do and how much you're going to recover," Morelli said.

"You just don't know. So that's where he is. He's still fighting and trying to live his life at the same time and trying to get better, and he's just not better. We're hoping and praying to get him back to where he was," he added about Tracy Morgan's condition update.

Meanwhile, a report from PageSix said that last Friday, the truck driver involved in the fatal car crash sought "that a federal lawsuit be delayed."

David Glassman, Kevin Roper's lawyer, contends that his client would have to defend himself in two cases although he is not named in the lawsuit filed by the "Top Five" actor. Thus, a motion was filed "to put Morgan's lawsuit on hold pending the outcome of Roper's criminal case in New Jersey."
