KARA Kang Jiyoung First Lead Role, 'Rainbow Rose'

Cable channel Tooniverse will broadcast "Rainbow Rose," starring KARA member Kang Jiyoung in her first lead role, in Korea for the first time. 

"Rainbow Rose" is about a diverse group of students from different countries that are staying in a Korean boardinghouse. The story revolves around these students as they develop friendships and romances.

When it first aired in April in Japan, the lead actors were all noticed for their acting. Contents Seven, a Korean production company, involved in the producing and filming.

KARA's Kang Jiyoung and Supernova's Park Geonil were the two leads for the drama, which was news for Korea and Japan alike. 

Kang Jiyoung is the daughter to the owner of the inn, who dreams of being a fashion designer. Kang Jiyoung was seen in very strange and cute outfits, which was a very big hit in Japan at the time that the show aired.

Park Geonil, who plays a Korean-Japanese Yoo Ichi, is the perfect handsome guy, who appeals perfectly to women. The two of them seem to have a love/hate relationship at first but begin to fall in love and define the genre of romantic comedy.

Along with Kang Jiyoung and Park Geonil, "We Got Married"s Julian Kang, Lee Sang Yeob are also part of the cast. 

"Rainbow Rose" will air on Thursdays for the next 6 weeks starting September 6, the first and second episodes will air back to back.
