Ray Rice, an American football running back who is currently a free agent won the appeal of his indefinite suspension for slugging his future wife, now the concern is whether any NFL team will sign him.

George Atallah, NFL Players Association spokesman told The Associated Press in an email that "I can only confirm the suspension has been vacated, effective immediately."

With his indefinite suspension from NFL has been officially overturned, Ray Rice has at least one thing to be grateful for this holiday season. A judge's latest ruling revealed that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell abused his authority after changing the disciplinary action taken against Ray Rice from a two-game suspension to an indefinite punishment.

Former U.S. District Court Judge, Arbitrator Barbara S. Jones, ruled Friday in Rice's favor and he has not only been reinstated but he is also eligible to sign with any team that is interested. However, with immense focus on domestic violence along with just five games pending in the regular season and Rice's declining production last season, will make it challenging for Rice to find a job.

In her decision, Jones wrote:

"Because Rice did not mislead the commissioner and because there were no new facts on which the commissioner could base his increased suspension, I find that the imposition of the indefinite suspension was arbitrary. I therefore vacate the second penalty imposed on Rice. The provisions of the first discipline - those regarding making continued use of counseling and other professional services, having no further involvement with law enforcement, and not committing any additional violations of league policies still stand."
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suffered yet another public embarrassment as his suspension of Ray Rice was overturned by an arbitrator.

However, NFL didn't immediately comment on Friday's decision by Jones.

It seems unlikely that any potential playoff team will take a chance on adding the distraction that would arise by signing Rice, also a team that is out of the playoffs singing him to get a look to see what he is still left with and probably bring him back next year, also seems unlikely.
