Tyler Perry is officially a dad!

The movie mogul and girlfriend Gelila Bekele welcomed their first child, a son, on Sunday, Nov. 30. The couple named their baby boy Aman Tyler Perry.

"Mom and baby are happy and healthy. Tyler is so excited," a source told PEOPLE.

The baby boy's name, Aman, means peace and represents "the true meaning of Thanksgiving and then, of course, the holiday season."

Perry and Bekele, a model and activist, are reportedly ecstatic over the birth of the little one.

"He's over the moon," a source said of Perry.

To celebrate their new arrival, the couple reportedly sent out wedding announcements to family and friends. However, instead of gifts, the proud parents asked that loved ones make a donation to Charity Water, an organization dedicated to providing clean water to developing countries.

In September, another insider reportedly told PEOPLE that the couple were busily preparing for the arrival of their first child.

"Tyler is thrilled. He and Gelila are so excited," said the source. "They've got the nursery ready and he's ready to change diapers."

"He will make a wonderful father," another source added at the time. "You will never find a more loving, patient, honorable or decent man than Tyler Perry. Any child would be blessed to have him as a father."

While Perry has yet to comment on the birth of his son, the writer/director/actor did post a photo on Facebook in celebration of the Thanksgiving season just a few days prior to Aman's entry into the world.

"I'm giving thanks in all things, even if this doesn't turn out so good... lol. Happy Thanksgiving. May God bless you this holiday season," wrote Perry.
