Brazilian beauty queen Andressa Urach is in intensive care a plastic surgery procedure caused an infection.

Urach was a runner up in the Miss BumBum Brazil contest. Andressa Urach claimed she had an affair with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Urach won second place in the Miss BumBum competition in 2012. She made headlines after she claimed she had had an affair with Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo. The 27-year-old model claimed she had an affair with the soccer star before the Champions League games in 2013.

Ronaldo denied her claims as "pure fiction and forgery" to seek "the limelight on my account."

Andressa Urach is reported to be fighting for her life. The Brazilian beauty suffered complications from a bottom-lift operation. On November 21, during which doctors implanted hydrogel and PMMA into the Miss BumBum runner up's butt and thighs to enhance their shape.

The Brazilian beauty queen suffered an infection from a plastic surgery operation that removed the gel from her thighs. Aquagel is used in Brazil as an alternative to cosmetic implants.

 She was admitted to hospital on Saturday.

"I ask everyone to pray a lot, because I'm sure that my dear Jesus is wonderful and will cure it," Urach's mother Marisete of Favari said in a statement.

Andressa Urach  is in a "serious condition" in a hospital in the southern city of Porto Alegre. The Conceicao Hospital Group in the southern city of Porto Alegre said Wednesday that Andressa Urach had an infection in her thighs after receiving under-skin injections of a substance to increase volume in the upper legs. She was hospitalized Monday evening.

According to reports, the Miss BumBum Brazil contestant has had 9 cosmetic in the past 5 years. She has reportedly had a nose job, a bioplasty facial correction, a jaw reduction, boob job, liposuction and vaginal lip reduction.

Miss BumBum is an annual competition in Brazil to find the woman with the "best butt." There are currently 27 contestants for Miss BumBum 2014.
