Floyd Mayweather Jr. reportedly witnessed rapper Earl Hayes shot dead his wife Stephanie Moseley before killing himself. The news was first reported by TMZ as neighbors claimed they heard the reality star scream before the gunshots.

According to the report, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and his friend Earl Hayes were talking on FaceTime on Monday morning when the rapper pulled out a gun on Stephanie Moseley.

"According to our Floyd sources, Earl said he was going to kill his wife. The champ was pleading with him to get a grip ... to no avail," it said. "Floyd will not say how much he saw, but he acknowledges he was a witness and heard everything."

At the moment, the undefeated boxer is still in shock and news reports are not clear whether Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was invited by the police to shed light into the tragedy.

The VH1, which airs the "Hit the Floor" reality TV show involving NBA cheerleaders, released a statement on Stephanie Moseley's death at the hands of Earl Hayes as it said that everybody is "incredibly saddened to hear the new."

"VH1 and the the entire 'Hit the Floor' family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends in this difficult time," the statement said.

In a related Floyd Mayweather, Jr. news from KTLA, police officers who were called to the scene at the upscale apartment complext in West Third Street in Fairfax District, LA were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m.

A resident called the police after hearing screams from a woman and "up to 10 gunshots."

"When patrol officers entered the apartment building, they contacted the caller and decided to enter the apartment where the screams and shots were heard, LAPD Capt. Ron Leslie said," the report added.

The news of Stephanie Moseley and Earl Hayes murder/suicide overshadowed the buzz surrounding Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s alleged next fight against Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines.
