MacBook Air Retina Display Release Date May Be Sooner Than We Think, If Not For Alleged Supply Problems

The MacBook Air Retina display release date has long been overdue, and since 2012 Apple fans have been waiting for such a version of the company's ultraportable laptop.

According to recent rumored reports, the only thing that keeps the Retina MacBook Air from getting released lies in its display itself. In reports, Apple is allegedly having problems with supplies for the Retina display on a screen as large as the MacBook Air's.

However, aside from the screen, another rumor suggests that the Cupertino manufacturer is also waiting for Intel to release its latest Broadwell chipsets.

These new chipsets are more powerful than the Haswell processors last year, and moreover they do not come with any fans.

If that tells us something it's that the new MacBook Airs would be much thinner than previous generations. So is there a way the one of the world's thinnest laptops would get even thinner? That is certainly possible considering the fans in the CPU will be taken out.

For months, there are also rumors of the device packing a bigger screen, around 12 inches, which would boast the portability of the 11.6-incher, as well as the power and longer battery life of the 13.3-inch edition.

Unfortunately, we better take all of these rumors with a pinch of salt, until Apple makes the announcement itself.
