God Of War 4, after a number of years of speculations and waiting for fans, has been confirmed to have a release date after Sony confirmed about the development of the game. Taken from an IGN report, the game is said to be in its early stages of development and has been dubbed as the "New God Of War" by its creators.

The release date was set to be on 2016 or 2017 as confirmed by Sony Santa Monica Studio.

The storyline for the upcoming game is said to be still a work in progress but rumors and speculations suggest that it would be a prequel. Creators of the game allegedly said that the game may be set the time before Kratos or may focus entirely on a new aspect.

Sony Studio creative director Cory Barlog confirmed the reports of God Of War 4's game development but a release date hasn't been really set just yet. Barlog didn't confirm any thing further regarding the title and even if the setting and game would feature a prequel or a reboot of the iconic game.

Fan speculation and rumors, meanwhile suggest, that God Of War 4 might be Kratos' last. Some reports suggest that Kratos would face Thor on the final battle that would take the lights out from Kratos.

Another claim said that a part five would be possible, but would be a prequel for the entire series.

Meanwhile, God Of War: Ascension is reported to come to PS4. A remastered 1080p native version of the GOW's latest game is said to be available for digital download on the PlayStation Store.
