There are reports that a course in Islamic State schools brainwashes young boys into beheading people.

TheAustralian.com reported that militant training camps enroll hundreds of boys in Islamic State schools, featuring unique topics like human beheading, after the extremist group took control of the secular education system in parts of Syria and Iraq, giving the families the option whether to enroll their children in radical Islamist educational places or have no education at all. Many parents who chose to enroll their kids are actually anxious that they may never see them again.

Islamic State state schools in the provinces replaced some basic subjects, such as teaching religious studies in lieu of chemistry. The lesson in beheading was taught to eight-year-old boys just like any other topic.

A student, Jomah, revealed that teachers once brought three frightened Syrian soldiers. Jomah explained, "It was like learning to chop an onion. You grab him by the forehead and then slowly slice across the neck."

The educator even requested for volunteers, saying, "Those who behead the infidels will receive gifts from God."

Several boys volunteered and participated in the beheadings. After the heads were severed, the students were commanded to pass the heads around.

Jomah said that he has grown desensitized by such ruthless acts through time. The children were also shown videos before the actual beheading to prepare them.

A former soldier said, "The stupid ones were always chosen for suicide bombers."

Wall Street Journal reported that many of the boys experienced nightmares after fighting on the frontlines. There were also others who had memory loss. All the students remembered their first kill.

Another student and his brother shared that they also joined Islamic State and went through a course for 45 days in Islamic law, called "Shariah". Afterwards, they had 15 days of specialized military and explosives training. Both boys and girls were educated in the militant training camps.

In Islamic State schools that include beheading lessons, their daily routine would reportedly begin at 4 a.m. with prayers. Next, they studied Shariah for three hours then had breakfast. They played sports for an hour before training with weapons, guns and mortars for eight hours. The day ended with more Shariah study and prayers. Bedtime is at 9 p.m.
