Twitter Update 'While You Were Away' Feature Allows You To Read Missed Tweets; Is This One Feature You'll Use A Lot In The Future?

The popular social networking site, Twitter, has a new update and it's biggest feature allows you to read missed tweets.

According to the Digital Spy, the Twitter update added the "while you were away" section that lets users read important tweets that were posted after the user's last login.

"The 'while you were away' section sits at the top of the account holder's home screen and has drawn comparisons with Facebook's News Feed," according to Digital Spy.

The new feature of Twitter allows the user to browse tweets that are must-read or tweets that are interesting for them.

Furthermore, according to the report of Crazy Engineers, the 'while you were away' feature "aimed at preserving the tweets to keep users engaged."

Reports also suggest that the popular micro-blogging website is working on an "instant timeline that display's content without the need to search accounts to follow," according to Crazy Engineers.

Moreover, according to Business Insider, Twitter disclosed in November that the company had started experimenting with a new feature and said in a blog spot:

"We can use information like who you follow and what you engage with to surface highlights of what you missed and show those to you as soon as you log back in or come back to the app."

Meanwhile, according to Business Insider, the Twitter update is now rolling out to iPhone users with the Twitter app.
