Super Junior's Leeteuk Thanks Fans For Support On The Anniversary of Father's, Grandparent's Deaths
Super Junior's leader Leeteuk thanked his fans for supporting him on the first anniversary of a tragic day.
On January 5, Leeteuk posted a message to fans, thanking them full-heartedly for standing by his side during the past year. In January 2014, Leeteuk's father and grandparents were found dead in their home. The cause of death was eventually suicide-murder, brought about by Leeteuk's father.
In recognition to support that he receieved from his fans during the past year, Leeteuk wrote a heartfelt message.
"Already a time of one year has passed. I wasn′t in the right mind to thank each and every person at the time, so I apologize," he wrote, according to Enews World's translation. "To my family who pulled through the difficult time, SM family, my members who were such a great strength to me... and to the thousands of people who came to give strength, thank you. Everyone be happy and stay healthy."

Leeteuk was serving in the army at the time of his family member's deaths, but receieved an outpouring of support from Super Junior members and fans. Several of the members attended the funeral, and acted as coffin-barers during the service.
The singer returned from the army in the summer, and returned to activties with Super Junior. During a recent episode of Super Junior's latest variety show, One Fine Day, Leeteuk discussed the hardships he face during the last year and broke down in tears.
Despite the difficulties, Leeteuk has returned to regular promotions and has started to appear regularily on several variety shows. Prior to enlistment, Leeteuk was a popular MC on many shows.
It was recently announced that Leeteuk and Girl's Day member Hyeri will host the 4th annual Gaon Chart K-POP Awards on January 28.
