‘Kuroko's Basketball' Season 3 Streaming On Daisuki While Fans Still Hope For Crunchyroll To License Sports Anime Series

Recently Japanese polling site Charapedia polled its readers on what the most inspiring sports anime was and "Kuroko's Basketball" was named number one.

It appears that Crunchyroll fans want their inspiration on a site that they're used to however. Rightfully so, since they're probably already paying for it.

Just in time for the winter premiere, "Kuroko's Basketball" season three is set to be simulcast on Japanese streaming site Daisuki. While some fans are happy that the season is returning, others are unhappy that Crunchyroll, the streaming service that previously broadcast "Kuroko's Basketball," has yet to confirm licensing of the series.

In fact, in Crunchyroll's announcement that "Kuroko's Basketball" season three would be streamed on Daisuki, fans seemed more focused on what that meant for the possibility of watching the series on Crunchyroll.

"But I want CR to stream Kuroko too," said Ruichama.

"When will Crunchyroll get this one please? Not happy that it is not in Crunchyroll right now," commented Gjapples

"I feel like I got punched in the stomach. I really hope cr gets this," explained Kitanoseiya.

Anime News Network reported last year that "Kuroko's Basketball," an anime series based on the original manga created by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, would be premiering a third season in 2015. It was also reported that the first episode would be titled, "51st Quarter."

In regards to whether or not Crunchyroll will still be able to stream "Kuroko's Basketball" season three, it appears to not be too late yet. Crunchyroll has previously been able to secure an anime series even after its episode one premiere, although the company has yet to confirm the current status on negotiating a license for the series.

It would appear that it would be in the studio's best interest to allow Crunchyroll to stream "Kuroko's Basketball" season three, if only because Crunchyroll is an actual subscription service. However, the situation does appear grim since the first episode was already streamed on January 10.

My Anime List describes "Kuroko's Basketball" anime series as follows:

"The Teiko Middle School Basketball Team. The class that produced three perfect seasons in a row, with five once-in-a generation players, called "The Generation of Miracles." There was another player who all of them respected... A legendary 6th player. An up-and-coming power player, Taiga Kagami, is just back from America. When he comes to Seirin High School, he meets the super-ordinary boy, Tetsuya Kuroko.

Kagami is shocked to find that Kuroko isn't good at basketball, in fact, he's bad! And he's so plain that he's impossible to see. But Kuroko's plainness lets him pass the ball around without the other team noticing him, and he's none other than the sixth member of the Miracle Generation.

Kuroko makes a pact with Kagami to defeat the other members of the Miracle Generation, who have all played basketball at other schools. A battle of light (Kagami) and shadow (Kuroko) begins!"
