K-Pop Review: Girl's Day - Fifth Digital Single: " Don't Forget Me"

Girl's Day releases their comeback single, "Don't Forget Me."

Prior to this comeback, Girl's Day lineup had changed. Previous member, Jihae, left the group during October to return back to her studies. In the meantime, Girl's Day cut the slack and still got up and worked hard on their comeback.

From their previous mini-album promoting "Oh My God!" back in April; Girl's Day's image tone down the cuteness and became graceful women in their new song.

"Don't Forget Me" showcases much more vocal ability. The song is catchy and the bass line is very distinct. It does Girl's Day justice of what they are really capable of. The small 'rapping' sequence doesn't sound too awkwardly place and If they release a different version of this song let's say an acoustic or a slower backtrack; it'll give a more a bigger effect of the concept and lyrics of this single.

Now the music video really gives of how much they all matured from their 'cute girl image.' The video's plot is very 'school year's uncomfortable puppy love' scenario. The only complaint is the choices of sets used. If the story line is based between two students then it should be more fitting to add more extras and make it more believable to the story to make the main characters to be in place with people instead of a very open and empty hallway.

As for the dancing sequence the appeal is very strong on their physical appearance. It was very similar to KARA's evolution from cute innocent girls to sexy women. Even the dancing has stepped up much more with the lineup change of the previous main dancer's departure.

Give the song a very nice listen. It's really an evolution of the group since of their debut and the song is very likable for this comeback.
