Will It Soon Be Over For Drone Cameras? Aircraft Intended For Drone Destruction Might Be Released Soon

As drone cameras become more accessible, many are likewise getting worried about their privacy. Nonetheless, these worries might soon be over if the Rapere becomes a reality. Rapere, whose name comes from the Latin word rapio (to steal), is also a drone. However, instead of capturing moments, its mission is to hunt, disable, and even destroy other drones.

According to the manufacturer's website, when activated, Rapere will search for a drone using its camera and once it acquires its target, it will hover on top of it. The Rapere will then release a piece of rope which will mess up with the target drone's rotors. Eventually, the drone will be sent spiraling to the ground.

While Rapere's flight time only lasts two minutes as opposed to the standard drone's 15 minutes flight time, creators are confident that it can accomplish its mission efficiently.
"Fortunately for us, detecting a free floating object which is well illuminated and far from any other visible object is easy," reads the description on the Rapere website.

Several issues will certainly arise if the Rapere comes to fruition. When will it be appropriate to intercept with another drone? Nonetheless, the designers of Rapere are currently keeping their plans low-key because the device might be used to harass or abuse legitimate drone users.

What do you think of Rapere? Do you think it is fair to destroy someone else's drone on the basis of protecting one's privacy?
