Suicune, Gardevoir Pokemon Added To 'Pokken Tournament' Roster Before Release Date: Demo Test Locations Announced!

With a new year, a brand new Pokemon game has been revealed, with more information unveiled to fans regarding the fighting game "Pokken Tournament."

Today, the Famitsu NicoNico live stream showcased "Pokken Tournament" and revealed additional Pokemon for its roster. Reportedly, Suicune, Gardevoir and Pikachu have been confirmed as fighters for "Pokken Tournament," which already includes Machamp, Lucario and Blaziken.

In addition, support Pokemon can also be summoned during battle and Mega Evolution can be activated as well.

Rather than a fighting stick, a controller was revealed with a D-Pad and BAYX button configuration. During the NicoNico stream, three modes were revealed for "Pokken Tournament," including Single Play, National battle and In-Store Battle.

But perhaps the most exciting news is that a demo version of "Pokken Tournament" will be available in certain Japanese locations on Jan. 30, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. Reportedly, the Namco Umeda Store and Maco Razona Kawasaki will have online play available as well.

So far, fan reactions to these developments have been hopeful.

"This will be amazing if released for the Wii U," commented Defender of Archie of PokeJungle.

Reportedly, this Pokemon game will arrive sometime in 2015 in arcades, but a non-arcade version could arrive in the future, presumably for the Nintendo Wii U.

"I will 100% buy this once it's released on Wii U," commented Simkenno on PokeJungle. "However, I just really want a new 3D game for Pokemon, a spiritual successor to "Gale of Darkness" or "Coliseum" or even "Pokemon Stadium 3."

Others are also hoping "Pokken Tournament" will arrive for the Nintendo console after an arcade launch.

"I seriously want to see the other Pokemon we could play as," wrote Affar. "I'm still hoping that it's coming to Wii U at some point. Usually 'Tekken' games release on arcade then console later."
