Miss Universe 2014 has just crowned Miss Columbia, Paulina Vega as the newest winner of the prestigious beauty pageant.

The 22-year-old business administration student has beaten 88 other contestants from around the world as she told the world that she would wear her crown with "pride and excitement."

"It felt like home. I felt like I was in Colombia with my people. I felt that support in every moment of the pageant," she said during the post-pageant press conference.

While, Donald Trump, owner of the Miss Universe pageant, claimed that Vega was a strong contender to the crown;

Many believed that Miss Jamaica, Kaci Fennell should have won the title with unconventional pixie-hairstyle and unbelievable self-confidence as to how she responded from the question and answer portion of the event.

"I don't have long tresses like everyone else. I'm just representing myself, and that's what beauty pageants are all about," Fennell explained when asked about her hair during the pre-pageant night.

She added, "You don't have to look a certain way ... and I feel like I represent that."

The 22-year-old Kingston-born beauty together with the other four finalists, Miss, Columbia, Miss Ukraine, Miss USA and Miss Netherlands were asked, "What is the greatest contribution of your country to the entire world?" by hosts Natalie Morales and Thomas Roberts.

Here is the answer of Miss Universe 2014 winner, Miss Columbia compared to Miss Jamaica's answer.

"I believe that my country has been an example to be followed by the rest of the countries, we are persevering people no matter what obstacle we have in our way and we continue fighting for what we want to accomplish, not withstanding many difficulties we have gone through, today we're world leaders in many different matters and I am quite proud to represent it before all of you," Paulina Vega answered.

While, Kaci Fennell responded, "Well as we all know, we have the home to the legendary Usain Bolt and Bob Marley, who have contributed such great music to this world and we have the fastest man alive who has been trailblazing the Jamaican flag."
