Compensation For Sony PSN Hack 2011; LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD And More PlayStation Game To Be Given Away To The Hacking Victims
Victims of Sony PSN hack in 2011 can now claim the compensation from the company.
The TechWeek Europe reported that PSN, Qriocity and Sony Online Entertainment subscribers who held an account before May 15 2011 can now file a claim at PSNSOESettlement.com for the compensation of Sony PSN hack in 2011.
"Sony agreed to offer up to $15m ($10m) in compensation for the hack under the terms of a US-based class action lawsuit the company settled last year," Tech Week Europe wrote on its publication.
However, only US users can claim the said compensation, since the lawsuit was US-based.
"The proposed settlement offers payments equal to credit balances (if applicable credit balance is $2.00 or more) in inactive accounts, game and online service benefits for holders of active accounts, and reimbursements for certain out-of-pocket expenses from any identity theft proven to have resulted from the Intrusions," Sony said in a statement.
The Register said that Sony PSN hack in 2011 victims "can either claim one free game, up to three theme or a free subscription to PlayStation Plus for three months for those subscriber not already signed up to that option."

Moreover, users can claim a reimbursement from the company up to $2,500 if they have been affected by identity theft.
The Sony PSN hack in 2011 left users of PSP and PS3 unable to play online for 23 days and personal information of about 77 million accounts were stolen during the attack.
