Hannibal Season 3 Cast, News, Trailer, And Spoilers, Glenn Fleshler Joins Gillian Anderson, Rutina Wilson, And Nina Arianda [VIDEO]

Hannibal was one of the first shows to take the concept for a movie and stretch it into a season long arc. That has found the show both critical and commercial success, making fans salivate in anticipation of season 3. Here is what to expect when the show returns this summer.

The latest news is that Glenn Fleshler, who was a bad guy in both 'True Detective' and 'Boardwalk Empire' will play another bad guy in Hannibal season 3. He will be Mason Verger caretaker, named Cordell.

TVLine, reports, " the character is "quiet, very intelligent and definitely creepy" personal nurse to Mason Verger (Joe Anderson, replacing Michael Pitt). In addition to being attentive and gentle with his disfigured psychopathic sadist boss, Fleshler's Cordell is described as a professional who cares about his work, even if he might be every bit as sadistic as his employer, as well as "a perfect fit to become his potential henchman."

Screencrush provided the following list of new actors, "Most recently adding 'The Hobbit''s Richard Armitage, 'True Blood' star Rutina Wesley and Nina Arianda as 'Red Dragon''s Francis Dolarhyde, Reba McClane and Molly, respectively, we know of 'Hannibal' season 3 that Gillian Anderson has been upgraded to series regular as Dr. Bedelia du Maurier, last cryptically seen flying alongside Hannibal in the post-credits tag of season 2 finale bloodbath "Mizumono." Raul Esparza will return to the role of Dr. Frederick Chilton, and Bryan Fuller suggested Eddie Izzard could return to the role of the late Dr. Abel Gideon as well.

Screenrant caught up with showrunner Brian Fuller who said, "We are staying very true to in the incident in the novel with Will and Hannibal and it's very basic outcome... There's going to be an impact from what's happened here. It's safe to say that not everybody survives. Everyone that's laying there breathing could be breathing their last breaths. It doesn't go well for all of them.

"One of the wonders of this season is: Will Alana survive and will Jack Crawford survive? Will Abigail Hobbs survive? Those are things that are going to be revealed very slowly at the beginning of Season 3."

"The stag always represented the connection between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter. He started seeing the stag after he was first exposed to Hannibal's murder of Cassie Boyle impaled on the stag head in the field. It felt like, [when Will sees the stag dying], the relationship that they had has died. Whatever comes next between them will be a fresh new hell. ...  In any relationship, when you throw a fit and end a relationship in dramatic fashion, later you might be going, 'Oh, I do sort of miss them.' [Laughs] The obsession is going to always work both ways between these two gentlemen."

"Season 3 is going to be a lot of fun because it's going to be taking a lot of disparate elements from the novel Hannibal Rising and the novel Hannibal and mashing them up together as part of the thrust of the season. It's going to be fun to bastardize two novels into one sort of Frankenstein season. I will brace everybody right now: We're significantly changing the Hannibal origin story from Hannibal Rising.

"The books won't necessarily be in sequential order. We'll be hitting elements of each of them except Silence of the Lambs in the next season. My hope is that not only do we have a completely different Hannibal Lecter story in Season 3, but we will meet some of those great characters like Francis Dolarhyde and Lady Murasaki and weave them into the world in a unique way."

Comingsoon.net also spoke to Fuller who said, "We kind of mix it up in a way that, since we are telling a fugitive story now, after 'Red Dragon,' because in the novel, once Hannibal guts Graham, he's immediately apprehended. In our timeline, he gets away so we are pulling that story up. Then telling a different story when we get to that storyline after 'Silence of the Lambs,'" he said.
