YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk Expresses Excitement About Big Bang's Comeback

YG Entertainment's CEO expressed "thrill" at listening to Big Bang's upcoming album.

Yang Hyun Suk, YG Entertainment's CEO, heightened rising expectations for one of K-pop's most popular idol group's upcoming album. In an article shared on the official YG Entertainment website, Yang Hyun Suk, is quoted describing the album, and confirming the Big Bang's comeback date. In the same interview, he also confirmed future activities for other YG Entertainment artists.

"We're working on iKON and WINNER, too, but the first YG artist to come back this year is Big Bang," said Yang Hyun Suk. "I'm kind of nervous to say this, but yesterday, I heard new songs created by Big Bang. They were better than any other song created by Big Bang so far."

He also announced that the Big Bang comeback will take place in April.

"I was thrilled listening to their new songs. I was so excited to listen to Big Bang's music after a long absence," the CEO explained. This will be Big Bang's first comeback since 2012.

Yang Hyun Suk explained that Big Bang's April release is special because it shows the growth of Big Bang as artists. "The musical skills and ideas of Big Bang have been culminating recently, in their 10th year from debut. The new album will be the highlight of their 10-year career."

"Listening to their new songs, I thought this is why Big Bang is Big Bang, the eldest and best artist of YG. Not only the title song but also every other song is great."

Big Bang debuted in 2006, and became one of South Korea's most popular groups after the success of songs including "Day By Day," "Lies," and "Fantastic Baby."

The members of Big Bang have toured as a group since the release of Alive in 2012, but have prominently promoted as solo artists. All five members - G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Seungri, and Daesung - have released music as solo artists and met with much success.

Big Bang will make a comeback in April with a new album. The group recently completed its first Japanese dome tour.

Correction on February 15, 2015: The article originally erroneously said that all five members of Big Bang had released solo albums. T.O.P released songs, but Taeyang not released a solo album.
