Michael Schumacher's Health Condition Remains Uncertain; Formula One Champion's Medical Costs Not At £10 Million

News about Michael Schumacher's health condition is still up in the air even as the Formula One champion's medical bills has reportedly piled up to reach £10 million.

According to the report from Express, the seven-time Formula One champion still couldn't speak and only has "limited awareness" of the people surrounding him.

Reportedly, his family has ordered a news blackout on Michael Schumacher's health condition but it didn't stop from information filtering out of his Swiss mansion where he's being monitored 24/7 by a team of doctors and nurses.

The 15-personnel team is reportedly being led by Prof. Jean-Francois Payen, who was the one who operated on the blood clots on his brain following his skiing accident in the Alps in December 2013.

A source told the publication that progress into Michael Schumacher's recovery "is painfully slow."

"There is no miracle on the horizon," the source said.

Peter Hamlyn, a spinal surgeon, told the publication that in cases like Michael Schumacher's health condition when the brain suffers massive trauma, "progress is slow, progress is uncertain."

The new article was a stark contrast to the earlier news from Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra, as shared by MailOnline, which claimed that there's a significant progress on Michael Schumacher's condition.

"The fact Schumacher is reacting with tears to his loved ones' voices is 'valuable news', after a year of seeming 'really far away,'" said the British publication.

The article, written by Giorgio Terruzi, reported: "Schumi cries. And sometimes mysteriously. He cries when he hears his children, his wife's voice, his dogs. In the silence of that room, a tear runs down his thin face at a known sound."

Manager Sabine Kehm last year said that it's very difficult to make some kind of projections regarding Michael Schumacher's health condition and pacify the need of the media for some news.

She told RTL, as reported by The Local: "Michael is making progress appropriate to the severity of his situation, but it will be a difficult and long process."
