Marvel's "Agents of Shield" season 2 has released a bevy of new information and trailers for the mid-season return, coming March 3rd.

The mid-season finale features a race between Shield and Hydra to the alien city, and revealed Skye's past with her unhinged father. After loosing a member of the team to the automated security of the city, they finally get to the center, wherein, Skye used the obelisk to transform herself into an inhuman, the mysterious group of people missing eyes that was occasionally cut to during the finale. According to the comic books, Skye will probably turn out to be Quake. 

Lady Sif will reportedly appear, having a fight with some yet unamed foe in Portugal. When the team gets to her, it is said that she will lost some of her memory which leads to not remembering who she was sent to earth to stop. She will also provide a source of information for "The Agents of Shield," who have been flying blind dealing with alien technology they don't really understand. .

Edward James Olmos will also be joining the cast as Robert Gonzales which, according to the studio, will have massive repercussions for Coulson and the team. Luke Mitchell will also join the cast as an inhuman that holds the key to Skye understanding her powers and where they came from.

Marvel has also released a season 2 synopsis. After destroying the city tied to his resurrection, and killing Hydra's Whitehall, new threats arise. Skye's father Cal wants revenge against Coulson for killing Whitehall before he got the chance to. Agent Ward and Agent 33, aka Raina, team up and deal with Raina's transformation through the obelisk, and also seek vengence against the team. It is also said that Skye's lack of controll over her powers threatens everyone's safety.

Bobbie and Mack begin a plane that will have "grave repercussions" for Coulson and the team, unaware that there is a new mysterious force working against them. Hunter is forced to make a big choice, threatening Coulson's mission.

The mid-season premiere is titled "Epidemic" and will focus on Coulson and the team dealing with the fallout from their war with Hydra. There are shocking revelations which threaten to tear the team apart, and Hydra makes a move involving a traitor in SHIELD.
